Introduction =============== It's easy to add color to the background of your profile pages. You just have to do it very carefully. Just follow these steps... ************************************************************************************************ 2. How To Do It =============== Step 1. Copy the color scheme you desire from one of the sections below. Make sure you copy ONLY ONE of the color exapmles and that you copy EVERYTHING from the first "" code. Nothing more; nothing less. You can highlight it and right-click copy or use the edit menu to execute the copy. Step 2. Now go to your profile page. On the left side will be your history section entitled 'My History'. At the end of the section is a link called 'Edit My History'. Click it. You will see a box containing your history code. It is called 'Places I've Been' and it's on the 'Edit Places' tab. Step 3. Scroll TO THE END of this box...all the way TO THE END!!! Put your cursor there (click there) and hit your [Enter] Key twice so that now you're on a completely blank line, away from your history text. Step 4. With your blinking cursor in this spot, right click and paste the code that you copied right into the box. Step 5. Now save your changes. You will return to a colorful profile page. It's that easy. Can this not work? Yes...if you did not copy everything from the opening "<" to the closing ">". Gotta have it all in there ************************************************************************************************ 3. Background Versus Headings ============================= The two things that this code changes is the background (desktop) of your page as well as the headings for your sections...you know "My History", "My Photos", etc. The difference between the colored and transparent headings is that the transparent ones use the same color as the background and only the heading text color is different. This eliminates the heading "boxes". ************************************************************************************************ 4. Dark Backgrounds =================== I have included one example of a dark background courtesy of Eonite Varinda. However, dark colors are problematic as you have to make changes to the colors of the text and all links (active, hover, visited, etc.) as well. I'm working on that. Should have a few examples soon. ************************************************************************************************ 5. Images As Backgrounds ======================== Please view the separate document on how to use images as the background of your profile. HOWEVER... If you use an image and have trouble reading the text, use this code to turn all the text bold. It's not elegant; just a quick fix. *********************************************************************************************** SAMPLE HTML CODE *********************************************************************************************** Backgrounds with Colored Headings ================================= 1.
