How To Create A Banner With Multiple Images Using MS Windows Accessories "Paint"

Microsoft Windows Paint program is a basic photo editing program included with the Windows operating system. Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint to open the program. Paint has an extensive Help topics feature but to simplify things try following these instructions:

1. Using your favorite photo editing program(Paint will work for this also if you dont have another program you prefer) resize the images you want to use in your banner to 100 pixels high. Dont worry about the width dimensions for now as the program you use will probably adjust the width automatically as long as you have the "keep proportions/maintain aspect ratio" option in use(the actual wording of this option varies depending on the program you are using).  The images MUST be presized to 100 pixels high before you go to step 2.

2. In the Paint program click on "File" then "New". Click on "Image" then "Attributes" and set the width dimension to 974 and the height dimension to 100 pixels(610x100 for group banners)s. Click "OK" and a new correctly sized blank template will open for you to work with.

3. Click on "Edit" then "Paste From". Search for the presized images you have stored on your computer that you want to use for your banner. Select the first image you want to use and click on open. It will automatically paste into your blank Paint template. Repeat for the next image you want to use. This one will paste directly on top of the first one you added but dont worry. Put your mouse cursor on the second(top) image, click and hold down the left mouse button to "drag" the top image to the position you want. Continue this process until you have the ENTIRE blank template full with your chosen images. Its alright if they overlap the template a little bit on the right end but dont leave any blank white area inside the template itself. When you are finished, click on "Image", then "Attributes" again to verify the dimensions are still 974 wide and 100 high(610x100 for group banners). If they are larger than that change them back to the correct dimensions.

4. Click on "File" then "Save As" to save your finished project as a JPEG file to your computer
