Peggy's Cove #1

9X12 Quick Pen & Ink hit with Water Color on really good paper: Maybe 1 hour with a very unforgiving medium as the evening fog rolled in and frostbite set in. Recently featured on Red Bubble: http://www.redbubble.com/groups/impressionist-art

Peggy's Cove is such a picture perfect place! You do a good job on the shapes of the boats - this is very difficult for me. New Harbor, Maine is another often photographed harbor which I am working on right now and struggling with the lobster boats.

I love it as is, you can almost feel the cold and fog! T

I have always wondered what it would be like to live near the water like that. Really nice.

Very ,very nice . I too like it just the way it is.

I love this. It captures the immediacy. I feel I'm right there in the moment.

Well done, as usual!

Thanks all, as you can see I'm really struggling with this medium. It's just real scary thinking that every stroke is going to stay on the paper in some form. Not as easy as my usual acrylics which work so well with my "blunt" style? "Don't like? Paint over it!" and with fast drying acrylics that means Now! There are still lots of places the ink drawing is showing through, like around and behind the red boat, but basically I just use the drawings for an armature to hang the paint on. This is probably not the way to do watercolors, but it’s still how I process an image, kind of left over stuff from all my etching work.
