Volunteer releasing brushtail

Earthwatch volunteers help Dr. David Lindenmayer study marsupials that few people have ever heard of, much less seen. They capture, examine and release endangered Leadbeater's possums, mountain brushtails, long-nosed bandicoots, short-beaked echidnas and other residents of the forests here in the highlands of Victoria, Australia.

In this photo, a volunteer is releasing an animal back into the forest.
