.........you have captured the feeling of tension between these two stallions I think, especially the larger sorrel fella who had spun and kicked the dusky in the face and almost knocked him down. I am glad you didn't make the dusky one look as bad as he really did in the photo, it has a more healthy look in your painting. I know that the dusky stallion will probably be dead before long, as their mating/rutting instinct seems so strong that they keep on fighting for domination of fresh mares which eventually they lose, or get injured and quickly die. The wilds are full of beauty and merciless hardship too......
