Very, very nice. I'm new to painting and have chosen watercolors to start - how did you get those images so sweet in the background?

Painting light to dark. Then some light areas were added at the end. It is always easier to add dark, so don't be afraid to keep light or even white space. I used a mask for the stamun (sp?) It is a liquid that dries and looks like rubber cement. You can paint around it and then rub it off and paint a light color, yellow in this case. I hope that makes sense. Also I did use watercolor pencils to add some detail and light colors.
