He's been living behind our house this winter and maybe for the last couple of years. I just met him this week. He wasn't afraid of me, even at first, and he even came when I called. No one around claims him as a pet. There's another rabbit, one that's changing colors this spring, that hangs around him, but hasn't been friendly to us.
......................having been a rabbit breeder before, I would say he/she looks like a dark Belgian, French or Flemish Giant, appearing to be a good size. They are popular meat and fur rabbits growing sometimes to 17-18 pounds. Few people know how tame and domesticated rabbits can be. In 72-73, I found one start following me down the sidewalk on California Street in San Fransisco one day. I called to him like I would a dog or cat, and he followed me. He became my friend for several years, liking to sit across my shoulders while walking about the city, or walking on a leash. He was house broken, and used a cat box at home too. They really can be quite tame and like attention from their owners. Too cool Valley.............
