This has got to be the bravest photograph I've ever seen. Beautiful ladies, look at those radiant smiles and what a great place for such beautiful tattoos! I just smile to look at their faces!
I find this photo totally beautiful and touching and brings tears to my eyes. I am not speaking about physical beauty but beauty and pride that comes from the soul. The look that radiates from their face says it all, we are survivors and are not ashamed at how the outside world views us. I wish I had that much confidence and love for myself. I am sure they find joy in everyday and are grateful to appreciate everyday which a lot of people do not have. We are all so wrapped up in the material world and I find their courage to be a great inspiration to all of us women.
"THAT'S"...something else! But...WHY ?? If you're NOT going to expose your chest with "BREASTS"...WHY DO YOU THINK IT'S o.k. to, now that they're removed? Just wondering ??
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful, It helps that I think Pretty tattoos on women are beautiful but the whole idea of covering the scars is a wonderful thought. I wish you best of health in the future. Be Safe Mike
These are two truly splendid ladies. My sister-in-law and a very dear friend from my childhood have had double mastectomies, and they are survivors in evey way. My respect and admiration goes out to these women.

I am the same as the woman on the left, sans tattoos. It's been 22 years, and believe me, I don't miss having to wear a bra. I'm alive and kicking, and quite honestly don't see bravery in this at all. You either survive or you don't, according to your attitude and sheer unadulterated luck. I love the cool tattoo work, though!
Beautiful! Perfect evidence of the idea that life doesn't always go the way we want it. Yet, we can maintain our sense of self worth and our ability to value life.
I also find this photo beautiful. I am a new survivor and if I had known the regimen that I would go through to keep my breast I would've opted for a mastectomy. Super photo...thanks for sharing. Maureen
I love this for many, many reasons; I feel like cheering any time *anyone* finds the courage to challenge our culture's narrow ideas of female beauty; any time anyone has the courage to be her or himself, not some cardboard cutout; any time anyone opts for real over fake.
And to these ladies and all the survivors out there: you give us all the courage to face life in all its possibilities. Thank you!!!!!!!
These lovely ladies have taken lemons and made lemonade to the greatest extent possible. They are role models at the highest rung of the ladder for breast cancer awareness and survival.
