- More about me

I am 64 years old and have 2 dogs, my "son", a 13 year old Husky named Yukon, and my husband's dog, a 9 year old Lhasa Apso mix, Bo. I take them to the dog park every day, where they run free, or walk them in the neighborhood, where they sniff to their hearts' content. I am also a faith believer in Christianity. The above-mentioned details about me have gotten me through a three year depression that seemed would never end. I am starting my new life. I think I began my midlife crisis in my 60's. Before that, I was in denial about aging. I have chronic illness with pain and weakness, but walking the dogs, and faith-walking have brought me through and I look forward to building a long and fulfilling life. I want to learn to base my life on "others", which wasn't happening when I was depressed. My physical limitations make it kind of scary, but I know there is a Plan for me.

You are the gift you came to give the world. Wrapping yourself in someone else's definition of what you should be is like wrapping a treasured gift in used paper and twine. Not only is it misleading, it does nothing to honor the gift inside. Be yourself and let the outer wrapping be as radiantly beautiful as the gift. May you always remember that you are the gift you came to give.
