My name is Debra, but my friends call me Deb. I was born in Winsted CT in 1952 to two terrific parents. My dad was a talented painter and a hard working guy, and my mom was a woman born way before her time. She and I were great friends and the nicest thing someone can say to me is "You're Just like your mom."

Beyond that, after high school graduation in 1970, I went to Becker College in Worcester, Mass and graduated with an associates in Mass Media. I worked for many newspapers and radio stations as a reporter, writer, and when no reporting jobs were available I sold advertsing. I worked for newspapers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Florida. I also spent time working in public relations and event marketing for companies in Connecticut and Florida. I now work in marketing and sales, but miss Journalism. The best 11 years I spent in reporting was at a paper in Ansonia, CT, called the Ansonia Evening Sentinel where I got to cover everything from politics to murder trials to entertainment. I met an interesting array of characters and made some very good friends.

I currently live with two Shih Tzus, Max and Meeka in Lake County FL. I hope to eventually move to Arizona. My unfulfilled dream is writing novels and plays.

I am a news junkie, avid reader of novels and non-fiction, love walking, good conversation, wine tastings, good coffee, watching movies, seeing new things and meeting intelligent well rounded people. Still hoping to meet my soul mate.

Recently I have experienced a renewed interest in my faith and have joined a temple nearby in hopes to being among people of my own faith. Would love to find a wonderful, healthy Jewish man who is close to my age.I love the opera, good theater, and most music with the exception of rap. I enjoy going to arts and crafts fairs, watching pro and college sports. My favorite places include Key West, Ponce Inlet in Florida, Sedona, The Grand Canyon and Sedona. I also love Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

I want to to white water raft down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, see the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, Napa, and get to Europe and Israel.

I am politically a moderate and lean more to Democrats. When I was a reporter, I never allowed myself to side with any party.After I left reporting,  I worked for AL Gore and John Kerry locally. I have been supporting Mrs. Clinton. I am not happy about the way the political process is currently being conducted and the news media's lack of objectivity. If she does not get the nomination, I don't expect to support any of the candidates including Ralph Nader. I may just write her name in. It would be the first time since I was 18 and voted  for a presidential candidate, that I am looking at writing in a name because I feel none of the others best represents me or can be a good president.
