Places I've been

Born in Bryan, Ohio but moved to Ashland County when I was one and have lived here ever since. Other than attending library conferences all over the United States, I stay in Ohio. My children all live within a three hour drive from home which does make it nice.

More about me

I'm a busy person. I got married the week after I graduated from high school and have been going full steam ahead ever since then. We live on a farm. For twenty some years we milked cows, then switched to growing trees, both white pine and various hardwoods. We have a large family and homeschooled them for 13 years. Than at 45, I started college, and got three degrees in 10 years. Since then I have been a reference librarian and now am a library director. Several years ago I decided that I wasn't going to "wait" until I retired before I started doing things that I always wanted to do - quilting being the first thing. I attended classes once a week for six weeks. I don't have much time to really get involved but I love doing what I get done. Working with the fabric is restfull for me. Allows me to slow down.

Activities

Quilting and reading are my two main interests at this time.

Favorite Charities

I like to support the local food bank and other local charities. I do have a special interest in the Alzheimer's group and the Juvenile Diabetic Assoc. My mother had Alzehimer's and four of my daughters are type 1 diabetics. I am a type 2 diabetic.

I love all music but must admit that Southern gospel and "old" country are my favorites.

Don't watch movies.

Favorite Books

Amost anything that I pick up. For work I read books on management and libraries but for pleasure I read romances, mysteries, and histories.
