Was lucky enough to spend 3 months traveling around our great country and enjoyed every minute! I've also been to Mexico and Canada (of course) but also have been to Germany for a short vacation.

More about me

I'm a Taurus and fit the profile quite well.  I used to love going to a primative cabin in the woods, without running water or electricity, for the weekend when I was in Vermont.  The aloneness and the contact with nature was wonderful. Don't get me wrong though as I'm a people person and just love meeting new friends.  Hard to anger, easy to forgive and like to hang onto friends for years and  believe that every relationship requires work.  My family means very much to me and have been saddened by losing 3 of my sisters and my father.  My mother and I live together and I take care of her as she's getting older (93) and needs lots of help now.  She's a wonderful person and a joy to still have around so it's not something that I resent. I never married so have no children but my sister moved in with me after her divorce with her 2 children aged 4 and 6.  We lived together for over 20 years so I feel that the kids are part mine.  When they moved out my mom moved in with us and we would all still be living together but mom and I came down here to NC to be with a dying sister.  Now that she's dead, we find that we don't want to move back to the cold and snow and enjoy the neighbors.

Activities

I like to take walks first thing in the morning as that's the most perfect way to start the day. I also like to read, talk to family on the phone and email friends. When I have the opportunity shopping and dining out is a treat.

Anything for children and animals St Jude's is my favorite of all

Favorite Music

Like most kinds except the new type such as hip hop and rap but have to admit to not listening to hard rock. I seem to listen to country or classical on the radio but play the Eagles, Neil Diamod, Ray Lynch's Deep Breakfast or Shawn Phillips' Faces a lot. I even have some big band that I like!

Favorite TV Shows

Don't watch a lot of TV but do like the news and a couple of comedy shows. My favorite sitcom is two and one half men as it seems to strike my funny bone. We get a show called "Just for laughs" that's like candid camera and that's fun too. Everyone needs a little giggle in their life.

Favorite Movies

Typical woman, I like Pretty Woman, The Lion in Winter and "chick flicks" Anything with a lot of violence is avoided.

Favorite Books

I seem to go through different genres. Right now I seem to like romance novels with vampires, werewolves etc. I've always stayed away from scary or violent books. Although I really liked The Stand and The Green Mile by Stephen King.

Favorite Places

The women in my family always got together at Myrtle Beach every year so I guess it's a favorite now. Although I really like lakes or mountains.
