Places I've been

I've spent most of my life in the NW, living in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. My second husband and I lived on San Juan Island for 12 years as a caretaker couple near Roche Harbor and later on our 27' sailboat. The past 20 years I've spent in Spokane close to my daughter and her family. I have been widowed for nearly 3 years and will take early retirement this year at age 60. I plan to spend the summer attending blue grass festivals here in the NW.

I spend a fair amount of time with my family but also enjoy reading, gardening, quilting, garage sales and selling on ebay, beadwork, painting with water colors and writing haiku.

Favorite Music

English and Irish folk music and bluegrass. During the summer I am often found at bluegrass festivals held outdoors beneath the trees.

Sling Blade, Cape Fear, Alien series, various foriegn films from the library, Sin City, 300, most fantasy and science fiction and movies that make me cry or give me a good scare.

Favorite Books

Historical mysteries are my favorites and poetry. Some mystery authors I enjoy reading are Bruce Alaxander and his John Felding series, Dale Furutani and his Samurai Trilogy, and medieval arthors Ian Morson, Susan Gregory, C.L Grace, Sharon Kay Penman, Paul Harding and Edward Marston, from the old Rome period..Steven Saylor and modern day author Nevada Barr who sets the scene for murder in our National Parks. Poetry tastes range from haiku to ballads.
