I returned to college in the 70s in San Antonio, TX., The University of Texas at San Antonio. College Graduation Year 1980 College Graduation Major/Concentration Education major/reading concentration Occupation(s) Teacher Commercial Underwriter for several insurance companies. I lived in San Antonio for nearly forty years, the Seattle area for about a year and now I am back in Texas. I have visited many states and a favorite is California. Some other states where I have spent time are Florida & Louisiana and the cities of Washington, D.C., NYC, Seattle, and Las Vegas. I have driven through much of the USA. I haven't been to every state yet, though. I have been to the Caribbean and loved it. London is the only city "overseas" that I have seen and would return at any time.

More about me

I have lived in Texas since I was about twenty-one. I did have an eleven month "visit" to the Seattle area in 97 and 98, though. I grew up in the Northwest, a very small town in Idaho.

I think of myself as a strong person since I have come through some major, life altering events. My first marriage ended in divorce while I was completing my bachelor's degree. I had two children in high school and no job and very little support. I made it, though.

My second husband died suddenly in 1996, and then my office in San Antonio closed soon after and so that was the reason for the short relocation in Washington state.

I am married again and retired. My children, a son and daughter are doing well, I think, and my son is the father of my only grandchild - see photos. He is the apple of my eye but lives in California, and, though, I would like to move there I don't see that happening. Life seems to be about changes so who knows.

 

 

 

Favorite Movies

There are many movies that I have liked over the years. Some that standout in my mind are "On Golden Pond", To Kill a Mockingbird", "Gladiator", "Calendar Girls" I like about anything with Judi Dench and Helen Mirren. I truly enjoyed Mama Mia.

Favorite TV Shows

When I watch TV, I usually watch the History Channel, football or movies. I love Dancing with the Stars, but usually do not like reality shows. My all time favorite is ER. I will watch a sitcom from time to time. Watching more TV lately and trying to decide what I like.

Favorite Music

I love most music, but I am especially fond of jazz. Blues and the old 50s rock and roll (those were my high school days), classical and even classic rock are in my musical library.

Favorite Books

Usually, the one that I have just finished and enjoyed . There are so many such as Kite Runner, Time Traveler's Wife, White Oleander, most in Oprah's Book Club. I recently read Water for Elephants and really hated to see it end. Check it out.

Favorite People

My two children and my darling grandson. Those dear friends in my volunteer group and Cece and Sandy, two new friends, my two sisters and brother, some special nieces and nephews and some old friends that I only communicate with now on email. There are celebs that I like but could never call them favorite people. That is reserved for ones I actually know.

Favorite Places

San Antonio, California, Pacific Northwest, London and, of course, Tuscany which I have yet to tour.

Favorite Animals

A dear cat, Cleo, who is no longer with me, and Sasha who was my Bill's dog and could not survive his death. My new cat, Rosie. Oh, and all cute bears, usually teddys.
