More about me

Hi!  I'm a fun-loving lady, mid-50's, in good health!  I love to travel and am always looking for a new place to go.  Currently I'm teaching 3rd grade but hope to retire in the next 3 years.  I have been working hard to make a life outside of work.  It's so easy to just work and have no other interests or hobbies.  I like to meet with friends on a regular basis and find that I need this connection more often than I used to.  Friends have become more important to me as my children have gotten older.  I have 2 children - both girls- and will become a Grandmother in October!  That's exciting for  me! I recently took a flying lesson and have been toying with getting a pilot's license!  The thought of being up in the air alone and landing the plane is a little scary!  As I've gotten older I have been willing to take many more risks - I am loving life more than ever! 

Activities

I belong to a community garden and have a 20'x20' vegetable garden. I love to dance, go to musicals and watch most types of live entertainment. My hobbies include cooking, crafts - especially card making, sewing and reading. I love the ocean and my favorite thing to do is snorkel in the warm waters of the South Pacific! I would love to sail with someone who can sail the sailboat!

Favorite Charities

When I retire I will volunteer for the local SPCA and dog rescue organization. I currently donate to Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I graduated from college.

Favorite Music

The Beatles, Elton John, the Beach Boys - all of that old music is the music that I love! I have also recently begun to enjoy some modern country music. I also love the swing music because it's fun to dance to.

Favorite TV Shows

I watch a few shows on TV regularly. Grey's Anatomy is my current favorite. I also like ER and Desperate Housewives. I enjoy some of the nature shows on the Discovery Channel and love to watch many of the shows on the Food TV channel. Jeopardy is fun also. I probably watch about 8 hours of TV a week and record most everything that I watch.

Favorite Movies

I don't have many favorite movies but I like to go to the movies. My all-time favorite is Back to the Future! There have been many that I have enjoyed and I would say that most are comedies.

Favorite Books

Books I've read and enjoyed could go on forever but I'll name a few: The Kite Runner, most books by Jodi Picoult, Gone With the Wind, Hawaii, A Time to Kill, To Kill a Mockingbird, medical mysteries with some romance thrown in!

My family and friends are at the top of the list. Walt Disney was a fascinating person as well as Bill Gates. I guess I appreciate the creative mind!

Favorite Places

Bora, Bora and Amsterdam. I also love Florance, Italy and Sienna! Because I love to snorkel I love anywhere that has warm water and beautful fish!

Favorite Animals

My dog, Roxy! I am a dog lover. I also enjoy watching the whales in Maui, Hawaii.
