I hope to be able to share with people, that photography does not require you to go out and buy the biggest, most expensive camera out there in order to take good pictures. I cannot lug big heavy camera bags through airports anymore, so I am using a Canon SD 1000 which will fit in my shirt pocket. Yes the camera has a lot of limitations, you just have to find work arounds. My Canon EOS system sits in the closet.

I am a retired Fire/Rescue Chief from the Kennedy Space Center, and the Daytona Beach Fire Dept. I have been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit on the Govt's dime. I have been to Africa 14 times as a result of contingency landing sites for the Space Shuttle there. Have had the opportunity to travel in Europe and the Marines were gracious enough to send me to Japan in the mid 50's. While in Japan I was living in the same barracks at the same time with a guy named Lee Harvey Oswald. I have been in 47 states and 23 countries.

Activities

I love photography and writing. Travel is a passion but getting a bit more difficult. I find you cannot smoke for 20 years and be an active Firefighter for 35 and have good lungs.

Those not represented by thieves and phoneys, those not stopping cars with paper buckets and fake smiles on their faces

Favorite Music

Some classical, easy listening, some rock and roll. A little country, and hard rock and rap just hurts my ears

Favorite TV Shows

NCIS, CSI, and Castle Loved Monty Python, Get Smart, Third Rock from the Sun. and Benny Hill sometimes silly slapstick makes digesting the evening news a little easier

Favorite Movies

Full Metal Jacket, Fire Base Gloria, Airplane, yup blowing things up or a play on words, ridiculous comedy.

Favorite Books

I read the Iliad and the Odyssey in the 6th grade lots of others, recently Riding Rockets by one of the astronauts, The Baatan Death March

Have had a couple of great Boxers, great dogs. but now nothing, don't want to have to worry about care when the mood strikes me to go somewhere
