More about me

I was originally born in Texas, and have not traveled too far from home.  I think probably Mexico is the furtherest.  I love poetry and have written several poems on the internet and had a book published.  I am married, have several lovely grandchildren.  I love the arts, plays and mystery movies.  I am retired and look forward to many funfillled happy days doing what I love.  I paint a little and love to decorate.  I love music of all kinds and use to play the flute which I miss very much.  I like meeting all kinds of people and I am a very good listener.  Fun unusual things to do are exciting to me and usually I am game for most of them. I believe you're never to old to learn and have fun.

Activities

I love to visit antique shops. I would like to start bowling again with a group. I love flowers and use to do all the yard work. Decorating and thinking of new ways to arrange furniture is fun, especailly when you get bored with the same old look. Dancing which is good for your legs, although I haven't been in quite some time. Flea markets and discount stores are my favorites. I love to write poetry when I'm inspired. Meeting new people of different backgrounds and learning about their thoughts and heritage. I've often thought what I would be if I were born in a different country or family? We are becoming more and more a one world people getting closer and closer to eachother. Although we are different in color, heritage and background, emotionally we are all alike.

Favorite Charities

About 5 years ago we lost our grandson to a brain tumor. It was fast growing and there was nothing the doctors could do. He was 14 months old. We have a brain tumor organization with the Cook's Childrens Foundation here in Dallas.

Favorite Music

I really like all kinds of music, but my favorite is easy listening. I once played the flute and regret I didn't keep it up. Tom Jones use to be my idol, but my tastes have changed and now I like Josh Grobin and Andrea Bochelli. And of course any gospel music really touches my heart and soul.
