I was glad to find this site, to make new friends that I have so much in common with - age, amazing music, cool clothes, hot cars, youth and it's beauty on our side, etc... Oh, for the good old days, no matter what some may have found to be bad about them!
I'm a southern gal, came of age in the 70's... happily married, honest, sincere, loyal. I believe in standing up for what I feel is right, and I weigh all sides of everything before making a decision. Thank goodness for a sense of humor - if I didn't have one I'd already have lost my sanity! 'Almost' every person deserves respect. I care about people for who they are on the inside, not by the cover of their book - looks are only skin deep. I love people and spending time with old and new friends...you just can't have too many good ones!
I love all 9 of my grandchildren but can only take 'em one at a time for over night (yes, nine - that's no typo! I have both grands and step-grands, including twin girl stepgrands born Oct. 6, 09). I now have to put an effort now into making my life more relaxing than chaotic, and what a welcome relief since my nerves have been almost totally shot in the past! I worry too much and try to avoid conflict, that's just how I am. I've made my share of mistakes (who hasn't), but I don't dwell on them as regrets. You can't change the past, only learn from it...too much sress can actuallykill!!
I love and must have my music and books (especially autobiographies of singers / songwriters / musicians of my early 'golden' years, the 70's!). I also enjoy some gardening, cooking both indoors and out, watching a little tv, playing a few word games and other silly things on the computer, trivia, and local college football, (Go Clemson Tigers!), and following some Nascar.
I manage to stay busy enough, but boredom naturally slips in from time to time when days seem too long! Sometimes my health puts me down and I have to fight my way back up, and I usually manage to do it fairly well. My husband always helps me when I need him to, but I try to mostly like to do everything on my own when I can. I like a clean house, can't stand clutter and mess...and you know nobody does stuff in the home the way you do it yourself, LOL!
I love the outdoors where it's quiet, peaceful, and all you can hear are Nature's sounds. Nature is awesome and amazing, but the land is disappearing quickly and sold at way too far over - inflated prices, just like homes are. Sad but true.
Fall is my favorite season, but spring is fresh, new and wonderful in it's very special way. Summer is too hot and humid for me now, and we basically have no winter in S.C.!
Music and lyrics are a big part of my life, they can completely change, begin or enhance a mood, depending on what you need them to do. Songs pop into my head through every aspect of life for some reason. Southern blues are the best. They reach deep into the soul, but I love almost all music. My husband has played guitar his whole life, so we love our old faithful tunes and are also open minded to a lot of new music - and I mean only 'real' music, not packaged b.s.!
I refuse to let my long-term health problems consume my life, time goes by too fast to let that happen. I've always been into making things. It's really therapeutic to create with your hands, so whatever came around, I've probably tried it. It all started with macrame, ceramics and all needlepoints in the 70's, but that part of my creativity is over now... I guess now it's more like been there, done that, can't really do it any more! I really miss it but just can't do it any more, and I still have most of the things I've made over the years.
I very much dislike commercialism and sensationalism, being bombarded from every direction with what to buy, how to look, how to act - it's gotten way out of hand. I know who I am, thank you very much! I really feel for the younger generation regarding this matter. So much for the basics, here's hoping to get to know you!

The blues are the best, it's all about life - once you've heard it, nothing else sounds the same. It takes all kinds to round it out for different moods. Southern Rock comes from the blues..but let's not forget classic rock & roll. You get the idea...I LOVE music! My husband plays guitar, we love acoustic and electric, and the slide sound is amazing. Some of my favorites are The Allman Brothers; Warren Haynes; Stevie Ray Vaughan; Robert Cray; Paul Rodgers; Joe Crocker; Leon Russell; Emmylou Harris; Bonnie Raitt; Janis Joplin; Natalie Merchant; Little River Band; Little Feat; Creedence; Tom Petty; Eric Clapton; Hendrix; Dylan; Pink Floyd; Van Morrison; Tina Turner; Jamey Johnson; Ben Harper; Dave Matthews; Motown, all 60's and 70's; Sorry, I could go on and on, there's just so much good music. So I'll stop here...

Experience is the best teacher for those who won't listen to good advice///// Don't eat anything that falls on the floor - there is no time limit rule/// I like all the Maxine quotes - she's from Crabby Road, and is a funny old lady who speaks her mind no matter what and sees life in her own special way !
