Places I've been

I spent most of my formative years, however, in northern NJ. I started my engineering education at the newark college of engineering but like so many of us, the war interrupted my schooling and after my military tenure, I immediately married the woman who stood so faithfully by me. with a growing family, it was difficult for me to go back to my daytime studies so I reluctantly opted for night school. It was tough manipulating a job, family life and night school but I completed the necessary degree courses and now I are an unginere. my area of expertise was in thermodynamics and it lead me to the design and construction of steam generators and eventually into environmental protection systems. since the war, my work has taken me to quite a few cities domestically and europe, frequently. my wife and I have spent some wonderful times in France and Italy. and each time I left the land of my heritage, I found it increasingly more difficult. I have a strong sense of how my father felt when he was forced to leave that beautiful country. but that's another story. In the interim, we have had three children, kathy, who lives in richmond Va, close to her three children and four grands. D, I blessed her with the plain letter D because she was born on the anniversary of a date that had a particular interest in my life. D Day) ,D lives in conn, with her cats. we also had a son , george, who was killed in viet nam. a day does not pass that he is not foremost in my thoughts. I am retired now and spend a lot of my time on the golf coures, writing, lecturing and when I am not otherwise engaged, reading. I love to cook for my family. my wife and I are in relatively good heralth for which we thank the Lord.

Activities

golf is my current passion. writing, when I have time. cooking for my family when they visit and eating out when they don't. and to fill in the gaps. I am an inveterate reader.

Favorite Charities

my favorite charity is the salvation army. the red cross will never get my vote since they had the temerity to put sa price on their coffee and donuts during the war in europe. cancer society and battered women.

Favorite Music

I like to thinkt that I am conversant with all music from buck owens to offenbach and everything in between except for the trash that passes for music today. I am empathetic towards all you people who did not grow up to the big band era. now that was music!!

Favorite TV Shows

I watch very little TV and certainly not those mind numbing sit-coms that pass for entertainment on network TV. my viewing is limited to the food channel, discovery and history channels.

Favorite Movies

not a movie goer. my last film was "the passion of the Christ" which left me breathless and before that, "saving pvt ryan", which left me in tears.

historical novels and any book from which I can learn.

julius caesar, who laid the foundation for civilization. mother theresa, because of her humanity. abraham lincoln, he changed the face of this great country. erwin rommel, he showed us how a war should be fought with determination and honor. george bush, who demonstrate every day the courage of his convictions.

I have traveled on every continent except australia and I found many places that I could easily call home. burt if I am asked to name a favorite, it would have to be our own grand canyon.

Favorite Animals

this is easy, my favorite animal is any of the feline species.
