Places I've been

Newton, MA (Hometown), Born in New Haven, Connecticut, I grew up primarily in Newton, Massachusetts, with the exception of four years in Geneva, Switzerland. I developed a taste for travel early on...subsequent adventures have led me here and there across the United States and Canada, to England, Germany, Denmark, Mexico, South Africa and Brazil. For college, I headed out to Evanston, Illinois and grew to love the wild waves of Lake Michigan through all four seasons. I then came back to my native New England in 1978, and lived for the next 25 years in Bennington, Vermont, before landing in the Pioneer Valley in 2004.

The unifying themes of my life are curiosity and storytelling. So it seems natural that I would end up working in public relations, where I can ask a lot of questions, interview interesting people, and give voice to issues that matter to me...Though I once I imagined I'd be an actress, which was followed by a brief fantasy of hopping a freighter to New Zealand and writing a novel about the sailors, I have instead applied my talents and time to work in health care and education -- with just enough improvisation, singing and creative writing thrown into the mix to keep my creative spirit open and lively...Mother of two grown children, I have been divorced since 2001, and in certain respects, started living my 20s when I hit 40. There's a freedom to this age: of experience and expression, which I now know enough to value and thoroughly enjoy!

Amy, I too had wanted to be an actress, but once I started traveling I realized that the main reason I had wanted to act, was to travel. And to live a different life for a time. Travelers wear many different hats!
