Married. Interested in meeting people for friendship
Hometown
I was born in Lorain, Ohio, to working class parents. This was a steel town, gritty and gray and hematite red on Lake Erie. I still can remember the hiss of graphite raining down periodically each week. We lived free of worries about the environment. They
Places I've been
High School Name (City, State) Lorain High School Lorain, Ohio College Name I attended Bowling Green State University majoring in English and History/Political Science for my B.S. My Masters' is from The University of Michigan(Note the capital T.). Then I studied for my doctorate at Western Michigan University. No degree. In teaching it did not pay to go on professionally for me. I mistakenly majored in curriculum and administration rather than a field that appealed to my passions like history or philosophy. In these, I am self-educated. College Graduation Year 1961, B.S. 1975, MA Occupation(s) I have taught throughout my working life, but I am looking for something rewarding to do whereby I can serve to complete the creation, as I have tried to do for the last forty years. Throughout the last sixteen years, Greece has been my favorite destination. In fact, I even wanted to retire there, but changes in my family ruled that out. Nevertheless, I hope to return to Greec this year for the seventh time. It is bleak, beautiful, particularly Cape Sounion.
More about me
After forty -and-a-half years of teaching high school English, history, and humanities; and off-and-on college courses in humanities, pscyhology, philosophy, and Research Methods, I am retired while looking for ways to serve each day. While my wife of thirty-two years still works at Kettering University, I find myself consistently at the right place at the right time to be useful to others and am still looking for formal volunteer work. Life is full of miracles, and I find them each day.

Dave - I read a couple of your comments in groups. Have you read David Harvey's "A Brief History of Neoliberalism" or Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine"? If not, I highly recommend both books. I'm a current student of philosophy and sociology, trying to made sense of the current global political scene.
