Places I've been: I actually call 3 places home. I was born in Winston Salem, NC and went to elementary school there. Then, to Mt. Airy and ending up in Fredericksburg, VA. I call all of them home because of great friends and childhood memories. I have been a Blessed guy! Two other favorite spots are Fairview Beach,VA. where I first started playing music in 1962 and Grand Cayman where I had a house band job from '86 to '88. I made a lot of wonderful friends and my Son was born there. I now reside in Springfield,TN a great little town about 30 miles from Nashville.
More about me: I have had the good fortune to have a wonderful family and play music for a living. I started playing at age 14 in Fredericksburg,VA and Fairview Beach,VA. I left college and joined the Air Force in '68,and I was a member of a band in Thailand called "Salt & Pepper". We were the first Americans to record in Southeast Asia. I came back to CA. and became a member of Dick Dale & the Deltones; moved to Hawaii; back to VA.; worked the East Coast from MA. to FL. with a show group called "Our House"; On to TN as member of an oldies group "Myron & the Marvells", a background singer for Donna Fargo and then in '81 with my on group "Steve Jarrell & the Sons Of The Beach". I've had the band for the past 27 years. I have had the pleasure to work with and become personal friends with many of the of the stars of the 50's, 60's & 70's. Currently, I still gig with the band and I have an oldies radio show Monday thru Friday in TN. that can be heard on the web at www.wsgi1100.com from 10am to 3pm cdt.
