About me
I m a 66 year old former activist in the Human Rights struggle in the United States. I'm disillusioned about the prospects for the future of America unless some radical changes take place. I am also a recovering addict with 23 years clean and sober. I recently had to retire from the addictions treatment field but I have retained my intense interest in the neurosciences. I am passionate about politics and am a C-Span junkie. I call myself a liberal thinker but do not feel comfortable with that label. I am liberal in social policy issues but I am more accurately described as conservative in fiscal and monetary policies. I am pretty much an introvert but have been described as a good conversationalist. I am attempting to improve my social skills even at this advanced age. I would describe myself as a social neanderthal. I believe old pups can learn new tricks. I'm a willing and eager learner.
I've been married twice to two good women. One who I credit with saving my life. She and I have 3 sons. One of the greatest blessings of my ongoing recovery from addictive disease, is the relationship she and I have today.
Race and addiction have been dominant themes in my life.
