Places I've been

Wither thou goest go I. And so, I've lived in Royersford and Birdsboro - downstate Pa, then Westfield PA and on to Addison NY where I think Ive finally established roots. Not in the village, my farm-raised husband could never abide all that togetherness, but in the wilds of the Town of Tuscarora. Strange how a big city girl found her peace of mind in the boonies.

I'm a pre-post-war baby boomer. Born on the cusp of war and peacetime, I've seen a lot.

I'm a country girl, transplanted from the big city when I got married 40 odd years ago. Who would have thought I'd end up talking acreage and plants. As a child, I though a little patch of green grass in front of my row house would be perfect. Now I have 16 acres of land and am surrounded by lots more.

I've done a lot of things in my life as far as working is concerned: billing clerk in shipping department of janitor supply housoe, injection mold machine operator, newspaper writer, inventory taker and, now, sales associate in jewelry department of major department store.

Who'd 'uh thunk it.

I've taken some knocks along the way, some I didn't think I'd get over.

But I have, and here I am with three grown children, five grandchildren, and three children-in-laws.

With my new little house, I've entered a new phase of my life - the Me First phase. After caring for my younger sisters, my children and my gravely ill husband, I'm ready to see what's out there for me. I've had a slow start, but now I'm ready.

Look out world - here I come.

Most of my favorite movies are musicals: Mama Mia, Singing in the Rain, The King and I, South Pacific, Brigadoon. Then there's Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one; no. 2 & 3 smelled) And anything with Sean Connery.
