I love to travel in the US. I have no desire to leave our shores. There is enough beauty to see in the USA to last a lifetime. I have been to Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Nevada, Virginia, Washington DC, North and South Carolina, and I love Alabama and Nevada the best, although I have never been to Arizona which I have heard is wonderful if you live below the mountains. I probably will never know as my family has always been from Wisconsin and I would be lost without my sons and their related families.

I actually was a member before, but my computer crashed and I lost everything. I was nanabirdie@msn.com before, but that name is no more and I did not know how to get back into eons without rejoining. You are the only ones I have to talk to. My husband has lung cancer and they don't give him more than 2 yrs to live. He is 60 and I am 53. He was diagnosed on our 10th wedding anniversary. He has had chemo and radiation (it had spread to his brain). He is now on the waiting time before they give him another CT scan in November. That will tell if the cancer has started growing again. It had went down by over 50% at the point they had to stop the chemo because he was to weak. He is 6' and weighs about 117lbs. He sleeps so much and won't eat, plus if I keep after him to eat, he gets mad at me. I got that bad flu in Sept. and then this month I had a severe sinus and bronchitous. The doctor has me on meds so I am ok. (I know it is because of stress that I get these things), but I don't want to complain, because I know his worries are so much greater than mine.
I was laid off last December 2008 from a job with Rayovac. I had been with the company for 28 yrs. I had many skills in R&D and also in clerical because I had worked my way up from clerical into Research & Development. There are no jobs out there at the wages I made before, so I took a job at a Walgreens for just above minimum wage. It is a nice job, but I sure miss the other job. Especially now that my husband is sick. He was diagnosed about 3 months after I was layed off and 2 months after I started this job. Thank goodness I have a understanding supervisor who allows my schedule to work around his appointments, etc.
He has 2 sons and I have 2 sons all from previous marriages. His sons visit him sometimes on Sundays when I am working, but mostly I do the caregiving. My sons live farther away and besides he was not the greatest or most understanding step father in the world, so they are not a help with caregiving, but they do come and take me out to lunch once in awhile. My husband usually does not feel up to going.
I guess I am just scared of loosing him. Even if he was not always the nicest husband, he never beat me or ran around on me or sat in the bars on me. He did like to drink at home and he was and is verbally mean, but compared to my other 2 husbands he has given me a security that I needed and I love him for that and I will miss him when the time comes. I miss him already, because he hardly talks to me (except to find fault, buty I know it gives him a little sense of still having a say in the works, so I understand), and he is so thin and won't eat. I am so lost. Thank you for being there for me.
