Places I've been
Local high school ~ also small ~ less than 150 in graduating class of '67. But it's even smaller now, so I feel fortunate ~ now it's a combined junior/senior high! Finished my degree at Framingham State College, after having a couple of kids ~ my ex agreed to pay my tuition and living expenses as part of our divorce agreement, which enabled me to finish up full time. Not so easy with two preschoolers, but got it done. Graduated '76, BA in English with concentrations in journalism and social sciences ~ I'm proud to have earned it magna cum laude, even with two little kids at home. Occupation I’m one of those fortunate few who found a field of work that I also love... so it hardly feels like work. I’m a communicator by spirit and by profession: primarily public relations, writing and marketing. I'm good at it, so it's rewarding and satisfying. I'm just about the switch jobs from a marketing agency to a non-profit, which will be far more rewarding. The most important places I've lived or visited would include Boston and Cape Cod ~ still a New England girl at heart, Washington DC, Colorado Springs (daughter went to college there), San Francisco, Sarasota Florida, and Madison and Milwaukee Wisconsin. Now happily back in Sarasota, though I sure miss my daughter and two granddaughters in Wisconsin! (see photos)
More about me
Many strange and diverse happenings have made me the person I am today, and I imagine the same could be said of most of us. I've always been curious about life and the world, optimistic and funloving, open-hearted and open-minded. I enjoy getting together with friends for dinner at home or out, times for relaxation and times for adventure, ideas and passions, music of (almost) every kind, "don't sweat the small stuff” but do know what to take seriously.
