I am a widow of 6 years this month. I have seven grown children, numerous grandchildren most of them grown, and am expecting number eight great-grandchild in July of this year.

I like building things with wood and working outside on my property as well as reading and of course my computer. I got tired of kids and grand kids coming to visit and staying way too long so I gave them the house and built me a one room cottage next door.  It gives me the best of both worlds; being around family without living with them.

I am college educated and have worked in different fields. My last employment before becoming disabled was teaching the mentally retarded blind for the State of Connecticut.

I think that sitting by a waterfall holding hands, having an old fashioned picnic with blanket and all, and just sitting in the yard counting stars are romantic. I am a hopeless romantic.

I am 5'4" and weigh 140lbs. My eyes are blue and my hair is brown with some gray.

I believe that what a person is like on the inside is what counts; not what they look like. Some of the prettiest wrapped packages on the outside are some of the ugliest inside. I also believe in the Marine's Theme which is "The difficult we do right away; The impossible takes a little longer".

Life is too short for us not to go forward and give to others.  There is always someone out there worse off than yourself no matter what your problems are.  Give someone a kind word and and a smile and it will be returned many fold.  Friends are treasured jewels in our crown and can't be replaced so cherish them.
