Yikes! They sucked my history OFF!! So, here we go again... I LOVE to TRAVEL! I LOVE to see what the locals see! I LOVE to do what the locals do! I even passed up a Tapas Bar in Madrid, Spain because I wanted to ride the bus with the locals! Then we found a wonderful bar in the Theatre District where it was just us, me, my husband and 2 friends, all evening ALONE with the bar owner. What a GREAT TIME we had! And OH the SANGRIA he made SPECIAL just for us! I've been to all states west of the Mississippi except North Dakota and Nebraska. East of the big muddy, I've been to NY, PA, GA, LA, MS, AL, NC, SC, CT, OH, IN, IL, WIS, MI, MD, VA, DEL. In Europe I've been to Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Belaric Islands. In the Orient I've been to Hong Kong, mainland China. Travel with us thru our travel site [uniquetravelops.com]!

WE BOUGHT A TRAVEL BUSINESS! CHECK US OUT AT [UniqueTravelOPS.com] ! Thank you! Check my blog for 10 Oct 07 - I was my own first customer 'cause our price was lowest!
I was born in Illinois. Lived in Missouri. Then moved to Southern California before I was 11. I'm a big city girl at heart. My husband is a native of southwest Arizona so we moved here to his birth place almost 12 years ago. The Wild West is NOT Dead! And it's filled with scorpions and rattlesnakes!
We have 6 grown children and 8 grandchildren. They're spread all over the US: East (VA & WVA), West (SF & Orange County areas of CA), North (NYC) and South (TX).
I have a BA from the UofCal-Riverside; attended Law School. I received a TBI in a vehicle accident almost 16 years ago. I'm a survivor! TYG!!!
I love to travel and have been to NYC, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Italy, Canada, Hong Kong, and Main-land China. And Mexico, of course.
Genealogy is my passion! I recently completed a descendant search to help the ggg-gr-son of a 19th century artist who is trying to locate and photograph every painting done by his ancestor.
My computer is my life! I got my first one [a 286] 20 years ago and have all but fallen into it - literally! My husband says he expects to come home from work one day and just see my feet hanging out of the computer monitor. That's a really good one!
We have 2 dogs: Spot, an Italian Greyhound and Tripod, a 3-legged chocolate brown Chihuahua with mini-pin markings.
We're fixing up our house to sell. We're going to move closer to our daughter in NYC. She wants to move out of the city but hasn't decided where to go yet. We looked at Connecticut last October together, but she also wants to check out North Carolina before she makes up her mind.
When the mood strikes me, I write modern day fables and kids stories. Also, poetry - some pretty bad! But it's mine!
Last Christmas I decided it was time to make quilts for the family. Most of the one's I'd made previously for them have been lost or worn out and a few of the grand-kids just plain didn't have a "Grandma-Made" quilt. So I made 18 quilts and got them all delivered! Phew! I don't think I'll try that again anytime soon...
I love music. I used to play guitar and sing. [Not both at the same time - I'm not THAT talented - LOL!] But my singing got me to Spain & Italy.
I'm running out of things to say...
Until next time - love ya, K
* P.S. Here's the link if you'd like to see the quilts. The Big Girls Quilts are the 3 on the right of the top row. http://space-pixie.com/stuff/quilts/index.html
If you'd like to see how I made each of the 3 pre-teen boys quilts special, look here: http://pix-e.com/stuff/quilts/boysbacks.html
* P.P.S. I belong to a monthly potluck group. We each bring a dish, or two, and the recipe. I collect the recipes and put them on a website so the other members can download them later. Sometimes I can't find one of my own recipes - LOL! So, I just go to the website and download it! Most of the recipes are pretty good. Mine are AWESOME! Look for any that start "Ks" or have "Kris" in the title. These I made-up myself. Here's the link: http://tcp.pix-e.com/
* P.P.P.S. I see that I forgot to mention that I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2003. Had the surgery and chemo. Then my Dr put me on a vegan diet. I took the Cancer Project Cooking Class sponsored by The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. The cooking classes made it possible to completely change my eating habits simply and painlessly. The classes are FREE to anyone who wants to eat more healthfully!

OMG. We have so much in common. I read your blog. And I've only made two quilts in my whole life. But I admire your skill. And you joined Hotel California, so I thought I'd drop by and say hi.
