My name is Linda and I am a native Montrealer. I am French-Canadian and Texan by adoption. My primary language is French and I speak fluent English. I can read Spanish and Italian too.

I am the proud mom of a beautiful 27-year old daughter, named Sabrina and of 6 wonderful pooches, all rescues, named Soleil, Pepper, Maddie, Sammie, Kinko and Peeckaboo. Let's not forget my 'grandson", Guimauve, my daughter's Bichon Bolognese.

I moved to Texas in March 2001 and made it my permanent home.

I had a long career as a bank teller and supervisor which ended in being the victim of three armed robberies in 4 months. That triggered a career change and I went back to school at 40 years old and got a degree in Administration, Accounting & Secretarial Studies. And I got lucky! I was offered a job as an employment agent from the very same schoolboard where I had completed my studies. I remained there for 5 years. Then came the move to Texas.

After a nasty fall in October 2003 that eventually forced me to have two back surgeries, hip and knee surgeries and live with a permanent partial disability, I decided to go back to school again and learn a new trade. I have always been an avid rockhounder and gemstone collector. Ultimitely, my choice of trade was jewelry design. I completed my studies in 2003 and earned my degree. I added Spanish Language Courses and Marketing to that and started a business at the end of 2003.

Bijoux Elegance Inc. was born, where I sell gold and silver fine jewelry. I put a lot of emphasis on creating jewelry adorned with beautiful gemstones of North America, like Oregon Schiller Sunstone.

During the same time, I got involved in dog rescue and became a volunteer for various rescue organizations since 2003. I have to admit I failed Fostering 101 many times over and adopted several senior dogs. Six of them crossed the Bridge since then and six are still well and very much alive. Quite a few have been adopted by wonderful families and I always have such joy whenever their families update me on my former fosters.

As my daughter and I are cross stitch maniacs, the thought of sharing our hobby interests with the community was appealing to us. Thimble & Needle became a reality. We offer a wide selection of needlecraft, scrapbooking, rubberstamping, knitting items and more.

Not putting aside our passion, dogs, we opened more stores dedicated solely to raising funds which are donated entirely to animal rescue organizations across North America as a token of all the love and joy these animals give me everyday.
