Currently reside in the Asheville NC area. Was a travel nurse for 12 years, which took me to some great places. I have been through the Painted Desert, Death Valley, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Mexico.

More about me

I am no longer employed; this has been challenging as I ran on about 6 hours of sleep per night, loved active work--was a cardiac nurse for larger part of my 28 year nursing history.

 I am currently writing a book series and simultaneously rewriting Book 1.  Many rewrites will go by before I am even close to seeking a publisher.

I blog--that is how I ended up as founder of Political Discussions.  My current blogs that I visit with any regularity are the one to do with my current book and one that delas with books I have read this past year. 

I am an evironmental activist; I love this earth, especially the wide open spaces where one can look to the horizon and not see any sign of humanity.  I *really* believe we are killing our planet.

Bluegrass is the music that talks to my soul.  Restores my hope in humanity.

Friendships are important, and I maintain friendships via long distances for many years.  I have been a member of a small writer's group since 1998, by the name of Cafe Blue. 

I have one daughter and one grandson that live near me.  Asheville NC is a cool place to live with diverse population, active music and arts, and some really good cuisine

I  have one email addy---and online I go by my  real name.  And I absolutely cannot stand cellphones--but I do have one reluctantly--keep it cut off 90% of the time.

Activities

Writing (fiction currently), Poetry, Chess, Music, Reading (currently working on 2010 reading challenge (10 books under 10 diferent categories), which I think was dreamed up to torture us with, but I am still trying. Love to travel. Photography, Jewelry Design, Solitaire and Text Twist and Mahjong only computer games I play and not often, group owner of some huge yahoo groups, mostly in the beading and classifieds areas. Politics and Change. I believe that each person lives an imprint on the world around them, and I try to be an agent for positive change/actions.

Blue grass, Coffeehouse Rock variety, Classic Rock, New Wave, No to Rap and Metal. I used to write songs when I was closer to my hometown of Mayberry (Mount Airy NC) and friends that played music.

Suspense Fiction--First love will always be Poetry--favorite poem is Elegy to New York. I read non-fiction and fiction. I can scream through 3 book in one day.

Favorite Animals

Most all--Pets I have owned include dogs and cats-- (Daisy the cat currently), a 6 foot King snake with a fettish for women's closets and shoes, a savanah monitor, desert lizard. Love horses, but never owned any.
