I'm a former teacher, retired. I have 3 sons, who live in other states. I'm open-minded, outgoing, fun-loving, sensitive, non-traditional, a boundary pusher, active, outdoorsy, compassionate, artsy and love to people watch. I love to travel, try new foods and would like to go abroad, when money and time permit and meet people from different cultures. I'd like to sit in one of those outdoor cafes in Capri, Florence and/or Venice and listen to Italian men tell me some lies about being a beautiful American woman. 

Activities

I'm taking classes in drawing, oil painting, stained glass, jewelry-making and mosaics. I'm sewing window treatments for my newly renovated house. Love cooking for friends, baking bread, throwing parties, meeting new people, picnics Every day is an adventure waiting to happen. Love picnics in the park, architecture, photography, dancing salsa and merengue, pretty dresses, trying new restaurants, the zoo, the public library, discussing current events at coffee shops with friends, flying kites, and travel.

Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, The Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer as well as rock oldies. The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Led Zepplin, Bette Midler, Josh Groban, classical and jazz.

Favorite Movies

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button; The Fisher King. Movies from the 40s, Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis, Ida Lupino, (strong women who were ahead of their time), and musicals. Most of the old stars are all dead now, but their characters live on.

All of Hemingway's, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and some of the classics that were banned by censorship.

Pseudo philosophers, people who act with passion and conviction, open-minded, intelligent, articulate people who laugh easily. I like people who are genuine, upbeat, friendly and exuberant who are interested in the world around them and want to make it better. I believe there is something to be learned from every individual we meet. I'm a firm believer in the goodness within.
