I actually grew up on the grounds of a state mental hospital just outside Goldsboro , NC. This hospital was a farm operation and had about 9 square miles of area. We had our own water treatement plant and our own sheriff. The employees lived on the ground (Hometown), High School Name (City, State) Goldsboro High School, Goldsboro, NC College Name Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD and George Mason University, Fairfax, VA College Graduation Year I got my nursing school diploma in 1968 and my BSN in 1984.

Who is the most interesting person you have ever met?

One of the most interesting people I ever met was a nursing instructor of mine named Mary Farr. She was completely dedicated to her students and their aquisition of knowledge. She could terrorize the med students and residents. She seemd to know everything there was to know about medicine. She would drill us constantly and she had me in tears more than once. But she taught me a lot about being the best nurse I could be.

Quilting and working in maternity nursing after 28 years in geriatrics. I have gone from one end of the life spectrum to another.

I don't currently belong to any organizations. I was one of the original members of the National Gerontological Nursing Association and participated actively for many years while in geriatric nursing.
