Places I've been

My husband and I moved to Georgia, about eight years ago. My daughters and their families as well, have migrated South, and we all live within an hour or two of each other. This Yankee gal has fallen deeply under the spell of the South. I love it here. A few places I've been, which hold special meaning for me, for a variety of reasons: Maui, my favorite of the Hawaiian Islands-The American Southwest, Incredibly Beautiful! Breathtaking!-Charleston, South Carolina, Magnificent Lady of a City!-Savannah, Georgia-Historic, Romantic, Lovely!-New Orleans, Louisianna, Bless her Heart!-Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico-Banderas Bay, Mismaloya, excelente!-Virgin Islands, Come as You Are, Delightful! Jekyll Island, Georgia has become my number one destintion for R&R. I think of it as my 'personal' bit of Paradise, and whenever possible, my husband and I make our way to this Best, of the Golden Isles.

Favorite TV Shows

I am no fan of television...the original 'Idiot Box'. I do enjoy PBS programming-Long Live Masterpiece Theatre!, the History Channel, Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet.

Favorite Movies

Too many to name, most from the Golden Age of Hollywood, the 1930s and early 1940s. I enjoy silent films as well, appreciating fully, this art form, when a film is a gem of the era. BBC Tudor Documentaries and Mini-Series. I thoroughly enjoy historical subjects treated with as much accuracy as is possible.

Activities

Writing, above all others, this is my favorite activity. I have ever enjoyed reading, and Learning! constantly learning! My interests are many and varied. So much to know, so little time to amass the knowledge! Traveling, seeing and experiencing new places. Spending time with my Grandchildren, my Terrific Trio of human beings! Continuing to know my husband, to learn all there is to realize concerning this one human being with whom I've been, and loved, for almost forty years. To know well, this one man, is to gain some insight into the male of the species.

I enjoy 'good' music, in every genre. I do have my favorite classical composers, Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart.

Favorite Books

I've spent the last few years re-reading many of the classic works of literature, from many of the world's greatest authors. By doing so, I have become so aware of how widely mediocre is most of our modern literature today. I also enjoy history, no, I'm passionate! about history. My eldest Grandson, age 17, shares my intense interest in the genre, and we often discuss where we human beings have been, which led to where we are, and where we might be heading, by what is occurring today, around the world. My personal Passions, as to History, are varied, yet two of my life-long studies include the English Renaissance, and the Reigns of the Tudor Monarchs (1485-1603). I am absolutely captivated and fascinated by these subjects.
