Places I've been

City girl who married a farmer...this was truly a "real" education...a busier lifestyle I cannot imagine...traveled mostly on Eastern seaboard (love the Maine coast) experienced a missions trip to The Baja, Mexico. Eldest daughter and her family lived in the Seattle area for 10 years so I had a yearly trip each spring to visit them. Go to Cape Canaveral, FL often (have seen many NASA mission lift-offs and returns) which continue to inspire me with hope and expectations. Love the fall ride through the Blue Ridge Mts, summer at the beach, the first snow in Maine, fall "leaf peeking" in New England.

Laughter and enjoyment are my everyday goals.... not that life has always been a "chair of bowlies".....LOL   But I have lived much and love much.   My family is everything to me.... One husband for 46 years, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 1 great grandson!!

 I appreciate people and love to make new friends.  I volunteer for everything I see a need for.... from church things, animal/rescue centers, community things and personal people crisis!   I don't meddle, I don't have to be asked, I just do it!!!

 

I enjoy photography, watercolor, jewelry design. Now I have a new love... Hot Air Balloon travel....up, up, and away!!!!     I love to cook anything with lots of carbs......LOL    I dance, sing, and am a great people watcher.....  and now I am enjoying a renewed interest in writing.

 

My faith is the thread that holds my world together.... love my Jesus and the personal relationship that we share.   Even when I'm out of sorts or acting goofy...He loves me!!!   

 

 

Aging is not the most pleasant part of my life but I do have a great appreciation for where I have been and all the experiences that I have encountered.  I have to work harder now on diet, appearance, exercise, when I just want to dance through the rest of my life!

I'm still "Jazzy" and..... I am still a "player" at life...

Activities

I'm currently busy with other interests such as photography, watercolor, jewelry design and furniture design, knitting/felting but most importantly I thrive on being the best Nana ever!!! Looking forward to full retirement next year so I can take up golf again!! Lots of perennials take up my time for 6 months a year and I experiment with veggie's planted in pots...rabbits are adorable but they eat the best of what I plant in the ground...I belong to a wonderful knitting group called, "The Knotty Knitters" that meet once a week..this past month we knit hats for chemo patients (50 plus)...we just enjoy each other and we don't even know everyones last name!!

Favorite Charities

I love what ST. JUDES means to so many children. C.A.N.C.E.R Society, a local group that does much for those afflicted. Battered Womens projects

Favorite Music

JAZZ (of course), was exposed to alot of 1910's to 1950's music while growing up. Am familiar with "easy listening" music and Broadway as well as some country. Don't understand rap and just never acquired an ear for rock.

Favorite TV Shows

I do enjoy the reality shows dealing with music ( singing and dancing). But am a Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice follower. I do watch some reality TV if it's not too "outlandish"! HGTV gets some attention, of course....love learning new paint/color techniques!

Favorite Books

The Bible. I am always watching for first time published and am usually impressed.

I love the ocean....could walk the beach all day singing a song or chirping at the birds.. or enjoy our cottage at the lake, napping on the back of the canoe or kayak....

I love my ShihTzu, Hercules.... and horses amaze me....attend lots of Horse Shows!!11
