My parents moved to Florida when I was 9. I'm very glad they did. The "South" is a wonderful place to live. I love it's lazy, laid-back lifestyle...though that's changed a lot. I love the friendliness and hospitality of true Southerners. I love their patriotism, their love of family, and faith in God. I'm not a traveling person. I like home.
- More about me

I am an only child. I never minded that until I was grown and I realized that siblings give a person more of an identity and sense of family. When my husband-to-be took me to visit his parents, brother and sister...well, everyone, I knew that this was what I was looking for. To this day, I tell him I married him for his family. I knew when I met them that this was something special.
I met my husband while I was going to Airline Preparatory School and he was a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds in their Minor Leagues. I never saw him pitch and I never became a stewardess. It was as though our life's dreams just lead us to each other.
We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I was the "Leave It to Beaver" type of Mom and my husband was the "Father Knows Best" type of Dad, so we had/have the very traditional, old style family. It's been good.
We both grew up in the 60's but we missed all the 'stuff' of those years and we're glad. We were never political until we had children. Now we're commited conservatives.
I'm an avid tennis player. I don't like to lose but it's gotten easier as I've grown older. My identity isn't bound up in it. My tennis friends, my Christian friends, and my family make up my social sphere.
I've been a care-giver for my mother-in-law, my father; both deceased, and now my mother who had a stroke many years ago. No one can over-estimate the stamina needed to do this important job. It's so hard, but so necessary. It's such an important part of the family cycle. And you learn that it's not all about "Me".
As the years are racing by, I'm working hard at making the most of each day. I'm grateful for all God's blessings. I have a wonderful husband, children who still like me, grandchildren who are lovely and loving, I'm blessed to have been born in America, and enjoy relatively good health.
I like Eons cause most everyone of us is on the same page. We know what the others are talking about! :~)

I've played competitive tennis for over 25 years. My husband and I created a small pond in our backyard and I enjoy it immensely. It requires work, but the sound of splashing water and the fish are a source of relaxation for me. I'm very involved in Bible studies and I love the internet and my computers.
