More about me

Born in northwestern Pennsylvania , oldest of 5,typical, noneventful high school journey, football,track,college prep. No money, so into Navy 1964 right out of high school, operating room technician. Owned my own business, early 1970s to present. Married,3 great kids, grown.  Happy, energetic, soon to retire, start a new life with suspected pursuits I have put off for decades, and, anticipating many unsuspected pursuits. Interested in almost anything. Like people, gregarious, yet, value solitude. Very independent, very tolerant, but, intolerant of the intolerant, judgemental. 

  Married with 3 great kids. soon to sell businesses,plan retirement. Look forward to travel, pursuit of too long a list of aspirations. I am a kind, decent, interesting person, that enjoys solitude and other people. So , I am very private, yet gregarious. Seeking some wisdom and perspective here from some kindred peers. 

 i am aware that i belong to some risque groups, may not be to the liking of others, but, i try not to be judgemental, and, expect a catholic attitude as such from others, and, there is more to me than that. i can be very liberal , or adjust to very conservative  friendships, and, as you would or should expect from my declaration above, would not try to impose my opinions, beliefs upon others, or try to align them with my values. i expect the same from others, being able to share what we do have in common, respecting what we do not have in common. simple, in a complex world, that does not see it as simple. i suppose my plea then, is to not let that scare you away, or pre judge me. if you do, well, then you have spared us both me thinks !

Activities

Reading, gardening, astronomy, photography, ham radio, drawing, painting, antique cars, collecting (but divesting of much of my collections at this point!), outdoors, sports of almost any type, traveling, cruising. Not much I'm not interested in.

Favorite Charities

have supported many, and, have cut back, for reasons of credibility, but, new one, kiva.org, has me interested, very interested.

Favorite Music

Almost anything from classical to pop, but, will listen to rap and country as a study, to ascertain the message, etc, but, not for pleasure.

Favorite TV Shows

Good shows with plot that has some relevance to life, meaning, documentaries, discovery channel, history channel, financial channel, and, of course most sport shows.

Favorite Movies

Same as above insofar as plot.

Favorite Books

Almost any, just not much time to read past 40 years, about to change that.
