Places I've been

I have been fortunate to have traveled in 43 of the 50 states. In Mexico, Baja, many times, -Mexico City Guadalajara, Uruapan, States of Colima. Michoacan, For Rotary International Conventions to Australia, HongKong, Fiji Islands and Japan (2)Tokyo & Osaka. When we lived in Germany we traveled to Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, England, Netherlands, Monaco, Austria. Love to travel and Japan is a favorite. I have been there 3 times, each time more fascinating than the time before. I NEED to see Ireland and Scotland and probably Wales. And how can I forget Belview, Ontario - Canada where my appendix ruptured! Lived in Ohio, California, Virginia, California, Germany, California, Texas, California, Nevada, Colorado and yet again, back to California. Where to next!!!Surely I could snowbird it to somewhere! Maybe on the other side of the earth! (and a tad south of the equator)

I AM 68+2.  NOT 70!  JUST WANTED TO GET THAT RIGHT~ AT THE BEGINNING!

Thumnail sketch,  I am a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow who's belief system is service to others.  Been a widow since April 06.  I am part of a very large family (I have two married sons and Dan's family includes 5 adult children 4 are married) and I have one old dog. (RIP Feb 7, 08)  The grandkids don't care to whom they belong, But, they all consider me the gramma,  all 21 of them.

  I am a regular churchgoer and sing in the choir, do solo work and sing in a quintette.  In my spare time I paint (landscapes) write (of my experiences) and keep up with  old friends and family!   My reputation is that of salsa queen of the family.  They like my cookin'. 

Somewhere within, there is an insane sense of humor that's a driving force in my life.  My God had to be laughing when he put all my parts in place!   I choose Joy.......

Activities

Rotary, singing, Bible Studies Missionary Society, Play hand and foot and Mexican Train Dominos, Writing short stories, Painting landscapes, Travel (road trips in particular. Off the main roads)

Not much of a T.V. fan. Oh yes, Food Network, TLC, Discovery, Public Television and Turner Classics, MASH is my all time favorite.

Favorite Movies

Braveheart, Rob Roy, Gone With The Wind, anything Fred Astaire. Anything the grandkids want to watch, Kipper, Thomas, Vegetales and on and on!

Robert Ludlum and Joel Rosenberg books, Intrigue and Mystery, Gone With the Wind. Left Behind Series.

Those with whom I feel safe and comfortable. I do not thrive with critical spirits! They are deminishing.

Favorite Places

Across the creek and up "the (my) tree" on the farm. Also the Breakwater in Hermosa Beach. Since then, I haven't found a refuge with the luxury of being in solitude. I could use a refuge!
