I'm Rob, a 52-year-old Caucasian man interested for over a year now in EONS.com for us 50 and older (almost) hippie-generation dreamers who are anything but ‘old.’ Just as I turned 50, I read Bill Clinton’s autobiography, My Way, where during his 50th birthday at the White House this president heard about a native american tradition that a male does not enter manhood until after 50. Although I've not been active recently, I am returning to EONS after losing the love of my life, Karen, just over 5 months ago. I look forward to sharing here with like-minded souls who just do not feel “geriatric.”
My interests: a wide variety of music, humor and comedy, reading, fiction and nonfiction writing, backgammon (mostly online), baseball (can you tell I luv the CUBS??) and some other sports, sailing, walking, bicycling, & probably a return to an interracial romantic relationship someday.
I am still grieving after over five months as anyone would who was so in love, but Karen has moved on to a better place. Do you know why God gave us faces that look to our front? It's so we will not get stuck looking backwards & keep moving forward in our lives. Karen used to say that all the time...
When one door closes, another opens I'm told. The position I accepted after Karen's passing which allowed me to return to my hometown did not work out due to the agency needing to die off due to extreme mismanagement. Now, I am preparing to teach psychology at the local community college this Fall as I will also resume my doctoral psychology studies, I am also rebuilding my consulting snd counseling practice, and am truly progressing through another crossroads. I am confident that life will take me in some new and interesting directions if I simply hang in there and choose wisely...
Lots of change in the works, I guess... Just looking for like minded souls who can empathize... Hope to meet you soon..
Rob.

"Likewise, how often the Jews murmured against Moses and Aaron, and when destruction came upon them in the wilderness...and therefore take heed of murmuring and rebelling against the Lord and his Spirit, but in all things learn to be content..."
