- More about me

I move around far too much. I have a bad habit of whenever I change jobs, I also change states. I have lived in most parts of the country except places bordering the Pacific Ocean, but I'm working my way out there. Oh, yes, I have never lived in the coutry of Texas either, but I do have friends there who sponsor me for visits. Right now I am pretty sure I will remain out west. I am addicted to the sky out here.I am very fortunate in that I work now on an academic schedule. I don't make as much money as I used to, but I make enough (and the retirement is good thanks to TIAA-CREFF). I spend the school year in the city is a small pied-a terre and do my best not to use my car very much. In the summer I live in the country in a place I own in another state in a small town. This place is also small, and I love it dearly. My weaving studio is there.I am a literal and figurative spinster. I come from the home of the sock monkey. I've earned a living in the past as a costumer and wardrobe mistress. I can do just about anything with thread, yarn, fiber or fabric. My father was an artist and a very skilled carpenter. I would like to learn wood working, but I don't really want to invest in power tools.I am passionate about the present state of the earth. I do not intend to leave this ecological mess for the next generation. Same about peace. I'm tired of hearing boomers labeled as a selfish generation. That's not me and that's not the boomers that I know.

There have been angels in my life. While they haven't arrived with a blast of trumpets or a rustle of wings, I've known them just the same. They performed their acts in human guise, sometimes borrowing the faces of family and friends, sometimes posing as well-meaning strangers. You have known them, too, when just the right word was needed, when a tiny act of kindness made a difference...or perhaps you heard a voice whispering in a night of sorrow, the words not quite clear but the meaning unmistakable--"There is hope...There is hope"
