I lived most of my life in eastern Canada and have been here in Alabama for almost five years. I've been across Canada. Haven't travelled to far beyond the eastern half of the US. from Maine to Florida

More about me

I am a Canadian living in "self-imposed exile" here in Alabama. After going through some major life changes I have become somewhat of a recluse because of my present focus. I spend much of my time writing and painting, both solitary pursuits. Athough I enjoy both, I need interaction with people. I am still adapting to life in the south and struggle with being so far from "home" and family back in Canada. Can anyone relate to that? Reinventing your life isn't easy at any time but I believe that when you get in your 50's there is so much history and baggage that defines who you are. It is part of me and helps define who I am. I am remarried- reason for being in Alabama- and that is a major change. I take things a day at a time and need to work on my inner well-being, as well as relating to my world around me.

Activities

I enjoy outdoor activities- hiking, camping, canoeing, enjoy reading, photography. Painting- watercolor and oils, writing. Enjoy going out to eat, seeing a good movie and spending time in an art gallery
