More about Earthwatch

For nearly 40 years, Earthwatch has worked to conserve our shared environment. To do this, we fund scientific field research and enable people just like you to volunteer on real projects in 30 countries around the world. By getting involved in a hands-on way, volunteers leave the field not just knowledgeable, but also armed with a first-hand understanding of how they can directly improve the health of the Earth.

Despite all the doom and gloom, there are ways you can take action on big challenges like climate change, ocean health, endangered species and resources, and threatened cultures. Whether you start or join a group to stay connected to other volunteers, are thinking about joining us in the field, or are just looking for more information on how you can get involved, you’ve come to the right place.

Join the movement. After all, it’s your participation that really makes the difference.

Hi, I am Li-Ju, a student helper in "Chinese Village Traditions" expedition of Earthwatch last year. I am a PhD student in Indiana University Bloomington. I am working on my dissertation about volunteer tourism. I would like to invite experienced volunteer tourists in my online survey.
If you are willing to help, please go to the link: view link

If you know anyone who have similar experience, please feel free to distribute the survey link.
    Thanks for your kindly help.

I am a 58 year old retired school teacher. I have been on 3 Earthwatch Expeditions since 2005....Each was wonderful...I have been on the Samburu/Lewa Grevy's Zebra in 2005; Amazon Riverboat in 2006, and South Africa's Brown Hyena's in 2007. They were all well organized and educational. The opportunity to work on site side by side with others in the field is awesome. You can't beat the scenery or animal viewing. If anyone has any questions feel free to e-mail me at ltalso@hotmail.com Please put Earthwatch in the subject line. (The only reason I am not currently signed up for another expedition ... is because I am doing the primary care for my aging parents). I look forward to having the time to go on future expeditions.

My interest is, and has been, in the peoples of the planet. Those who are technically situated may not be the best indicators of the health of our world. They are the collectors of the nuances and waves measuring the changes being made, while the bulk of lifestyle and populations in general become the carriers. I've been a supporter of the wild creatures filling the places which civilization appears to disrupt continually in greater and greater measure.
