Bangor, PA (Hometown), Raised in Bangor (Northampton County) PA, near the Pocono Mts., known for roofing and blackboard slate, garment and textile industries. Area was settled primarily by Welsh, English, German and Italian immigrants. Lived in Bethlehem, PA, before moving, full time, to our future retirement home here in Winter Haven, FL, in 1996.

Hi, I'm a 50% Southern Italian - American. My father's family came from Sulmona (Abruzza), with strong ties to Rome. The dePamphilis family was well known there as well as the Doria, Landi and Borgesse cousins. My mother was a Schaeffer, of German and Welsh (Jones) heritage. I am retired in Florida, with my wife of 47 years. We have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

I love to cook, mostly Italian, plus PA Dutch (German), Southern American and some Mexican and Chinese dishes.

For many years I was an automobile dealer and retail strip mall owner as well as partnered with my wife in the retail clothing business. I also have a background in the newspaper advertising business, having been the Advertising Manager for the Bangor Daily News, PA and a representative for several others. Prior to full retirement, I was an automobile salesman here in Florida.

Anyone reading my profile that may have some info. regarding the dePamphilis family, especially in Italy - I would appreciate your contacting me. We are trying to put together our family tree and are pretty much at a dead end with the Italian connection, prior to 1900, from Sulmona (Abruzza) and Rome. Thanks.
