Hometown

I grew up on a dairy farm in Thomastown Township, in the southeastern corner of Wadena County. It's smack dab in the very middle of Minnesota. In fact, a small town that is no more, named Central is exactly what it sounds like - in the center of the state

Verndale High School, Verndale, MN. I graduated with a class of 28 students. Before that, I went to a one room country school through the 6th grade. We walked a mile and a half to school each day, carrying our lunch buckets with jars of soup to warm up in the cakepan of water over a hot plate. We all shared the same dipper to drink water too!
