Formerly a computer technician and teacher. Also Union President for the Support staff for too many years. Retired and found myself restless, so I write, something I have done my entire life. I am a poet and author. My first book was published this summer.
More about me: I am a 55 year old married poet and author from Minnesota. My first book "The Wonder, Fifty Pieces of Poetry" was publishd this summer. I am currently working on my next book.

I read your poem about Maddie and your blog about feeling the loss of your mother. My Mom also died after about 7 years with Alzheimer's. She didn't have any grandchildren near to "paint her toes". That was a wonderful story. As you grieved longer for your brother, I also grieved very long for my father, who was killed in an accident. I believe that death that happens in this way, is harder to accept. I am from your neighboring state of WI. Finally we are getting warm days, so I hope you soon will be outside gardening in remberance of your Mother. Have a "bright" day!

I just read your "Maddie" poem. Just had to let you know how beautiful that was. I lost my mom to Alzheimer's about two weeks ago and having a 4-year-old granddaughter, well, your poem was something special and certainly touched my heart.
