Places I've been

I grew up in the Oyster Bay area of long Island, NY. It was there that my dad engendered in me my life long love of boating. I went to college there and met and married my husband there. We lived in Amity Harbor for 5 years, before moving to New Hampshire. We raised our children there. What a wonderful area to raise children! During those years we took brief trips to Bermuda, Barbados, Las Vegas, Florida as far as Key Largo, and several camping trips to eastern Virginia to show the children Washington, DC and historic Virginia sites. When the children flew the nest we bought a vacation house on Lake Gaston in North Carolina. Later we moved to Beaufort County South Carolina. After my husband died I took my mom to Ireland to see where her mom had grown up and to England. Later after I lost her I moved to Florida where I currently live with my 2 dogs.

More about me

I met and married my husband while we were still in college.  After college he worked at three jobs so that I could stay home with our 3 children until they started school.  Once they were in school, I began my 32 year teaching career.  During that career,  I taught regular elementary education and self-contained learning disabilities.  I still miss the teaching part, but not the paper work nor the increasing discipline problems.  I always did voluteer tutoring and still do. I retired at 60 and began a very short second career buying and fixing up houses with my husband.  After losing him I first moved into our fixer-upper and then later into my current home in Florida.  I am making a new life for myself now.  I would like it to be filled  with activity and adventure.  I would like to make many new friends both in the FL community and here on eons.
