I am so sorry for not responding to your question. My father-in-law who was living with us passed away Feb 1 and I never even saw your comment. Yes, it is rather easy. A friend in her 90's showed me how and once you have all of the materials ready then it just takes some time. I have not done much more on the rug due to cleaning out my FIL's house but hopefully will get back into it soon. I like wool so I buy old wool blankets and tear those into strips but you could make the rugs out of any type of material that appeals to you. Good luck if you start one.
