By the way my new friend I once directed and played the part of Herod in "Jesus Christ Superstar" and we had the most wonderful time when we played Muskogee OK. First off there was a dance bu=it I used to do in the middle of my song and hen I finished the crowd in Muskogee gave me a standing ovation! I was shocked at the time and then we returned to the Holiday inn where we were ataying after the show and the hallways were filled with well wishers, As the director I was responsable for about 50 people in the show and I was immediatelly worried about such a crowd hanging about our rooms at such a late hour and to avoid trouble (the police) I called the manager up to the floor to show him the crowd and how we were not responsable for them. I guess I really shouldn't have worried as when I told the manager my fears he sais"Oh hell! You should have seen it when Merle Haggard was here!" so I quit worrying and went to bed. The nextday a group of locals, many of them indians, (Cherokee if I remember right) took us to this beautiful park with a stream (or what they might call ariver there) running through it and hd a wonderful day. Yes, I remember Muskogee and always will. It was a real high point in my life as the show went off perfectly there and the people were so kind.
