Hello Everyone!

My name is Brenda and I now reside in upstate New York.  Born in 'Brooklyn' and lived in Astoria until I was 44 years old, at which point I moved to Valdosta, Georgia.  (One of the things that a divorced person is able to do is to check out different places).

I lived in Georgia for four years, and then moved to Las Vegas, where I resided for five and a half years.  And then lived in North Carolina until Jan. of this year.  I put a few pics on my page for you to check out.  They're not the best pics, but oh well - they'll do for now.

Activities

There was a time when I was quite the athlete! I played and coached softball and basketball for about 34 years for the CYO and the YWCA. I had to stop playing, when my knee started to act up again, as I had a skiing accident back in '79 when I was married, and my knee has never been the same. I was also a camp counselor for three years for my parish. In my final year as a summer counselsor, I had a total of 29 kids boy and girls - ages 11-14 - Oh yeah - that was fun. I really miss hikking and backpacking though!!

Favorite Charities

Children's charities are, of course, among the first. But I must confess, I like to give to animal foundations. These particular creatures of GOD, are so helpless, yet very independent and all creatures are Man's best friend.

Favorite Music

I ADORE MUSIC FROM THE 60'S, 70'S - I have too many favorite groups i.e. Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, etc. I love Jazz and Blues - my favorite Blues artist, is the incomprable Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra - I like Louis Prima as well. I also grew up with a lot of Opera (being Italian, it's only natural). I do not like RAP!!!

Favorite TV Shows

Most anything from the 60's - some 50's shows (Dick Van Dyke), Mash, Hill Street Blues, All Law & Order shows, the sit-comedy SOAP, Dark Shadows and All In The Family - there's more - too many to list!!

Favorite Movies

One of my y favorite movies of all time is Bye Bye Birdie - Wuthering Heights, almost any movie with Bette Davis (Dark Victory, Now Voyager, etc.) and 12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda, Jack Klugman, et al (I can name them all). There's so many but you get the idea. As Lauren Bacall once said, ..... "if you've never the seen the movie, even if it's an oldie, it's a new movie!" Makes sense, doesn't it?!

Favorite Books

Gone with the Wind, Sidharrtha, The Prophet by Kahil Gibran, Phillip Roth's Portnoy's Complaint and books about Politics and Hollywood - it's amazing how the two subjects cross one another througout our history!!

Favorite Quotes

"It is better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt"! Our 14th President, Abraham Lincoln said this (of course, it was after the great Confucius said it).

Favorite People

I don't have any favorite people, although I adore admire my sister Lorraine! She has lived through so many serious health issues and manages to keep a smile on her face and warmth in her heart!
