More about me: I'm a broadcast engineer turned teacher, and also am a small publisher. My first novel was published in 2002; I have recently published a nonfiction book about heart bypass and am about to publish my second novel, (speculative fiction). I'm also a published poet. Nowadays I work as a teacher.
Activities: Writing books and poetry; publishing; teaching; creating Web sites; building radio stations; being a DJ.
Favorite Music: Rock, death metal, classical, modern jazz.
Favorite TV Shows: TV kills the brain!
Favorite Movies: A Clockwork Orange
Favorite Books: The Gormenghast Trilogy.
Favorite People: Che Guevara, Hugo Chavez, Winston Churchill, Stevie Wonder, Pete Townshend, Fela Kuti. I've met three of these.
Favorite Places: Sayulita, Scarborough (UK), San Francisco, Shady Cove (Oregon), the Napa Valley.
Favorite Animals: Swiss dog breeds, tortoises.

The cartoon image was drawn for me by a street artist in Montreal during my Guinness record railing.
My first book back in the 90s was a travel tip book. It was outdated by all the info about East Berlin I had written. I am updating it now, but have to take a few more trips through Europe by train for the research. Trains and other things have changed. My last trip was in March, but I still need at least one more.
9/11 changed a lot of opinions, but most of my family and friends still realize there are good and bad in every country. I have met Arabs in my travels that I truly liked. It is the religious fundamentalist Islam I am frightened of. Also, their treatment of women and girls upsets me.
I think your book would be ok as is. "The Kite Runner," was written by an Afgani. The book is very popular here. Anyway, if your book generates a lot of flak, you'll sell a lot of books and become famous. To waste all those words you've assembled would be a shame.
My brother worked in Saudi and I am picking his brain for info for a novel I'm writing. I don't usually write about places I have not been to, but this time I'm trying it.
