When I was a teenager, I aspired to be a Hermit. Get thru High School and head up into the tall Lonesome.

It would seem as though I have failed to achieve my vision. Instead, I have been working, the last 30 years, at a Charcoal Factory.

The saving grace is that I was borne a Philosopher. Don't have the degrees to prove it - but many Philosophers are this way. And unlike the hermit, I DO have some kind of 401K to sooth my ruminations.

Now I look forward to reaching retirement just as I hoped to finish High School, 40 years before. Hope my Vision is better realized THIS time.

yup yup I wasnt around then either but my understanding is yes they could be used the same as a silver dollar..when one gave the trade dollar to a merchant they would put their mark(check mark) on it so one would know where it was used and then passed on to someone else as in change?

Attitude Avatars - What a great idea! Right now, with no camera and no working printer, I've got all I can manage to just get a photo of the real me up there. I will someday, though. Have been subbing photos of my two alter-egos occasionally - Nana Havana and Drama Momma - from my photos page. It keeps folks guessing if I really look like them!

LOVE your "self-portraits" Badgerrr! Great sketches - one couldn't figure the differences between my stick figures and those of one who can't yet manipulate a pencil. Good for you!
